On June 22nd 2026, Bristol Community College announced the hiring of Jeffery Carreiro as Head Coach of the Women and Men's Cross-Country programs. Director of Athletics and Recreation, Brian Fernandes stated, "We are excited to have Jeffrey Carreiro begin his college coaching career at our institution. Coach Carreiro has demonstrated the passion necessary to create an inviting and supportive experience for the student-athletes in our Cross-Country program."
Coach Carreiro competed in Cross-Country and Track & Field at Dartmouth High School before continuing his running career with the University of Massachusetts Amherst running club. Carreiro started his coaching career at Hampshire Regional High School where he supported both the Track & Field and Cross-Country teams. Following his time at Hampshire Regional, Carreiro founded a running club at Dartmouth Middle School. He later assisted with the Track & Field and Cross-Country programs at Dartmouth High School.
Coach Carreiro currently serves as a teacher at the Dartmouth Middle School and resides in Rehoboth MA. Coach Carreiro said "I'm excited to work with runners of all experience levels and look forward to growing the program."
The Bristol Bayhawks Cross-Country program competes in NJCAA Region XXI and is scheduled to begin practice in Fall 2026. Please follow our Bristol's athletics website and social media pages for news and updates.
